Helle Thorning-Schmidt has been the talk of the Internet after she took a "selfie" with President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron during Nelson Mandela's funeral. Photographers captured the three leaning in towards each other as Thorning-Schmidt snapped a flick with her smartphone.

The photo instantly caused an Internet uproar and left many people wondering who she was. The selfie was never posted on the Internet but was captured by a Getty photographer.

The caption read: "U.S. President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron pose for a picture with Denmark's Prime Minister Halle Thorning Schmidt next to U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama during the memorial service of South African former president Nelson Mandela at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg."

The quick picture has been dubbed "one of the most high-powered selfies ever snapped." So who is Helle Thorning-Schmidt? Well, according to Norwegian news site VG, Thorning-Schmidt is the current head of state of Denmark. Her official title is the Prime Minister of Denmark.

She has held the position since 2011 and became the first woman to do so, the Telegraph reports. Thorning-Schmidt, 46, has previously led the Social Democrats and the Socialist People's Party as well as the Danish Liberal Party.

She graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a degree in political science and  worked as a consultant for the Danish Confederation of Trade Unions.

Thorning-Schmidt married Stephen Kinnock - the son of the former Labour leader Neil Kinnock - in 1996 after meeting at the European College in Bruges. The couple has two daughters together, Johanna Kinnock and Camilla Kinnock.

They both were a part of an investigation for tax evasion but were cleared. Thorning-Schmidt has met President Obama several times in the past, including a 2012 visit to the White House and at the NATO Summit in Chicago in May 2012. The President also met her during a visit to Stockholm in September.

Thorning-Schmidt has a great sense of style and has been given the nickname "Gucci Helle" by her colleagues.
