Zimbabwe won the opening match of Twenty20 World Cup on Tuesday. The Hamilton Maskadza-led side secured a comfortable 14 run victory over Hong Kong. Batting first, the Hamilton Masakadza-led side made 158 for eight in 20 overs. Hong Kong, in reply, managed to score 144 in 20 overs, falling short by 14 runs.

Scotland, on the other hand, began its World T20 campaign with a loss. The Preston Mommsen-led side lost its opening game of tournament against Afghanistan on Tuesday night. Mohammad Shahzad (61) and Asghar Stanikzai (55)' brilliant knocks guided Afghanistan to post a challenging total of 170. Scotland, in reply, managed to score 156 for five in 20 overs, falling short by 14 runs.

"Unfortunately we couldn't quite get over the line, we lost a couple of wickets at crucial times and it wasn't to be," skipper Preston Mommsen said. "We got a brilliant start but couldn't keep the foot on the accelerator and it wasn't enough. If we'd kept them to 10-15 runs less it would have been a fairer reflection of our efforts, we've just got to address that middle period when their spinners tied us down."
