David Beckham made a shocking and bizarre confession during a documentary called "The Class of '92," a film about six players on his team. The soccer star revealed that at 16-years-old he was forced to perform a sexual act as part of a hazing ritual, UK's Metro reports.
Beckham vaguely describes a time when he had to please himself while looking at 1980 soccer hunk Clayton Blackmore while the rest of the team watched and laughed. He said he had to go through the humiliating process before joining Manchester United's youth team.
"Everyone had an initiation that you had to go through on the youth team, that was one of the most uncomfortable ones," he said. "The fact that I had to look at Clayton Blackmore's calendar and do certain things, while looking at Clayton Blackmore - I mean it was embarrassing to talk about."
The film chronicles how the 38-year-old and five other players got their start with the Manchester United in the early '90s. The film also features stars Paul Scholes and Ryan Gigs.
"I was embarrassed when I was saying it on camera let alone talking about it more. But it's something we all had to go through," he said. "It was definitely something I wouldn't like to go through again."
Joining the team led him to play his first Premier League match at 17-years-old in 1992 and eventually stardom. Following Beckham's revelation another Manchester United teammate, Robbie Savage, tweeted that the Beckham "wasn't [the] only one" who had to do an embarrassing hazing ritual.
When fans asked Savage to elaborate, he refused to comment. Since the embarrassing hazing joke the athlete has appeared nearly naked in countless underwear ads and is now married to Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice from the '90s girl group Posh Spice. The two also have three sons together Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz and a daughter named Harper.
"The Class of '92" airs in London on Sunday, Dec. 1.
