Television is attracting big screen talent from broadcast to cable to streaming, and "NCIS" wants part of the action. The CBS drama hopes to bring aboard a film actress for one of two new series regulars next season, according to TVLine.

Season 14 of "NCIS" will introduce a new male and female agent. The latter is named "Tess" and she is an FBI Special Agent in her late 30s who has recently transferred to D.C. from New York City's Counter-Terrorism Unit.

The network procedural is seeking a "named" actress to play the character described as "quick-witted, sarcastic, shrewd" and "two parts bulldog, one part sweet kitten," the G-woman can just as easily keep up with a group of politicians talking at a black-tie fundraiser as she can truck drivers at a roadside diner. In her mind, sleep and sex are "overrated" while a good martini and a rare bacon cheeseburger aren't, according to TVLine.

Furthermore, Tess is a three-time divorcée (sound familiar?), whose ex-husbands supposedly "can't keep up with her." Despite her toughness, she's also available as a shoulder to cry on and taking on the Mamma Bear role. But if you make her angry, she's not afraid to get mad at even her superiors.

The new characters will fill the hole left by Michael Weatherly aka Tony DiNozzo, who will exit "NCIS" after this season. Weatherly has starred as a series regular on the show for all 13 seasons.

"NCIS" airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on CBS.
