Netflix will be rolling out a major update for the NEtflix on TV experience starting on Wednesday. The entire interface of how users brows television has changed as the streaming service debuts what it calls "the biggest update in Netflix history to our TV experiences."

According to Mashable, the new look will be featured on all game consoles and devices such as Smart TV, Roku and Blu-ray players. Netflix says that the update has been in the works for more than a year and a half and is the first step in the company's primary goal of making it easier for users to discover great new content on the popular subscription-based media streaming service.

"Our members collectively watch more than a billion hours of Netflix a month, most of that is on a TV," Netflix's chief product officer Neil Hunt said in a statement.

In the past, the interface has made browsing somewhat difficult. In fact, only consoles have seen the most up-to-date version of the system. Certain devices such as Tivo and Roku have experienced the older version.

The new Netflix look is designed to run on all kinds of devices. It uses JavaScript to build its new look and make it easier for the company to add more updates in the future.

The new look from Netflix comes on the eve of the release of new next-generation gaming consoles the Xbox One from Microsoft and PlayStation 4 from Sony. Game consoles have been a popular way for users with a Netflix subscription to stream their content. A new look to go with a new console interface will help the Netflix brand seem less dated by comparison.
