Ted Mosby might have finally found love on the series finale of "How I Met Your Mother," but actor Josh Radnor is still defending the way the popular show ended. The actor spoke with HuffPost Live about the controversial ending to the series and said that while many viewers were not satisfied with it, he thought the reactions were blown out of proportion.

"A lot of [the reaction] was great," Radnor said. "I think the narrative the media got ahold of was that everyone was outraged. I don't think that was true.

"I think it was terrific!" Radnor continued. "How many finales stick the landing so that everyone is happy? None!"

"If Ted and Tracy walked off into the sunset together, I think people would have called it a soft or sentimental ending, or that it was a fairy tale," the actor said. "But something about 'How I Met Your Mother' was it always upended your expectations, it always made you cry, it always was not what you thought it was. So I think it was in keeping with the DNA for the show. And my suspicion is that it will age pretty well, so let's talk in 10 years and see what people think."

"How I Met Your Mother" ended its 9-year run in the spring of 2014. The series also starred Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders.
