Punk's not dead, it's just hungry. The iconic New York City rock venue CBGB & OMFUG will be reincarnated across the Hudson river as another overpriced airport restaurant, Gothamist reported. An outpost of the CBGB restaurant is set to open at the Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey at soon as year's end.

The club will be renamed CBGB Lounge and Bar (L.A.B.) and will feature the iconic white awning with red letters that pays homage to the original storefront, according to Rolling Stone. No word yet on whether the restaurant will feature the graffitied walls that became synonymous with the venue.

Serving classic American fare, the menu includes a deviled egg appetizer for $9, a wedge salad for $11, and a $14 bacon cheeseburger, according to a photo posted by New Jersey independent rock radio station WFMU's Twitter page.

Opened by Hilly Kristal in December 1973, the venue was instrumental in shaping the New York punk and new wave music scene in the '70s and '80s, Rolling Stone reported. Punk rock legends The Ramones, Television, Talking Heads and Patti Smith have all graced the stage at the venue before it closed down in October 2006, with Smith performing at the final concert. Kristal passed away the following year.
