Kiip recently held the first ever Mobile Gaming Championship. Thousands of competitive gamers were in attendance and the show ended with one lucky girl earning herself a Guinness World Record.
"There are console and PC gaming tournaments, but no one has created a highly competitive experience for mobile - until now," said Kiip's CEO Brian Wong before the tournament began, according to reports from IGN.
The tournament, which was held between October 11 through the 13, looked to find the world's best mobile gamers. One girl, Alayna Felton, 21, beat out thousands of other competitors and walked away from the event with the Guinness World Record for Longest Distance Run in "Into the Dead" after completely blowing the first record holder out of the water. Her official score was 32,858. The previous high score was 23,800.
More than 870 hours of gameplay was clocked in during the event and players ran a total of 47,677,346 total combine meters. Felton claims that her strategy for winning was to simply conserve her ammunition. "I tried to save as much ammo as I could, I didn't want to waste anything. I ran around the zombies and tried to save ammo," she told IGN.
In addition to being able to brag about being a Guinness World Record holder, Felton walked away with a brand new Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone, an Into the Dead t-shirt and a personal zombie portrait created by the creators of the game, PikPok.
Kiip's next qualifying competition, featuring the title Lane Splitter, will be held on Nov. 1-3. You can go to Kiip's website HERE for more details on the event and other upcoming qualifying competitions.
