Monday’s episode of “The Blacklist” left me feeling sorry for Red. Now before you start scratching your heads, let me explain.

First of all, Tom gave the performance of a lifetime in the interrogation room. He played the part of the ignorant and scared school teacher so well that Elizabeth believed him.

However, the comments from the mysterious man at the end of the episode shed some light on Tom’s real identity. The man said Tom wasn’t working for Red but for someone else. Here’s my theory:

Tom and Gina do know each other and are lovers. In fact, they work for the same person.

EOnline reported earlier this month that fans will meet someone in Episode 8 that may strike fear in Red.

The two lovers work for this unknown person and their job is to help this person take down Red. As I mentioned before Red is the fourth person on the FBI’s Most Wanted List. The person who has set up Lizzie to hate Red and has employed Tom is higher on the list than Red.

“The Blacklist” has continued to put up numbers that make it the best new show on television. According to the Entertainment Weekly website, NBC's hit had 10.6 million viewers Monday night with a 3.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic. James Spader leads the cast with his excellent portrayal of Red and while the chemistry wit the rest of the cast isn't perfect, it's really good.
