HNGN's Week Ahead in Entertainment is jammed packed with special television events, movie releases and music. Between the new "Star Wars" film, Adele's live concert special and Chris Brown's latest mixtape release, there is something going on for everyone!

This weekend at the box office, there will be a showdown between the highly-anticipated film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and Amy Poehler and Tina Fey's "Sisters." While "Star Wars" is expected to be one of the most successful films of the year, the high-power comedy duo of Poehler and Fey are a force to be reckoned with themselves. "Sisters" is the first movie the two former "Saturday Night Live" cast members have done together since 2008's "Baby Mama."

Friday will also be a big day in the music industry with Brown, Pusha T and Cage the Elephant all releasing new music.

In Theatres (Dec. 18)

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens"

Perhaps one of the most highly-anticipated films in years, the seventh installment of the "Star Wars" series finally opens on Friday! The film was directed by J.J. Abrams and stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford. Not much is known about the highly-secretive film, but it will take place about 30 years after George Lucas' original trilogy. This is the first "Star Wars" film that creator George Lucas was not a part of making, even though he served as creative consultant during the early stages of making the film.

"Sisters"

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey reunite for the comedy "Sisters." The film was directed by "Pitch Perfect's" Jason Moore and was written by longtime "Saturday Night Live" writer Paula Pell. "Sisters" tells the story of two sister played by Fey and Poehler who have one more blowout party before their parents sell their childhood home. The film also stars Maya Rodolph, Ike Barinholtz, James Brolin, Dianne Wiest, Rachel Dratch and John Cena.

"Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip"

The fourth edition of the "Alvin and the Chipmunks" series has Alvin, Simon and Thedore headed to Miami! In the film, the three chipmunks are scared that human Dave will abandon them once they learn that he plans to propose to his girlfriend. The voice cast is made up of Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jessee McCartney as the three chipmunks and Christina Applegate, Anna Faris and Kaley Cuocco as the chipettes. The film also stars Jason Lee, Bella Thorne and Tony Hale.

TV Must Watch

"Adele Live in New York City" (Monday, Dec. 14 at 10 p.m. on NBC)

Adele's successful third studio album "25" has now sold over 5.19 million copies. Now, everyone will get a chance to see the British singer perform songs from the album as well as some old favorites in a live concert event that was previously film at New York City's Radio City Music Hall. The special will run for 90 minutes.

"Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2015" (Thursday, Dec. 17 at 9:30 p.m. on ABC)

At the conclusion of every year, Barbara Walters announces the people who most fascinated the public for that year. While the most interesting person is revealed at the end of the show, some lucky people who made the list include Amy Schumer, Bradley Cooper, Tracy Morgan, the first African-American Principle Dancer for the American Ballet Theatre Misty Copeland, UFC fighter Ronda Rousey, fashion designer Donna Karen and Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders. The special first premiered back in 1993 and has aired every year since, except for in 2000 and 2001.

"iHeartRadio Jingle Ball" (Thursday, Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. on The CW)

If you missed the opportunity to see your favorite musical acts at this year's iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour, don't fret, the concert will be show on The CW! The concert special features artists such as The Weeknd, Selena Gomez, 5 Seconds of Summer, Nick Jonas and Demi Lovato.

Album Releases (Dec. 18)

"Royalty" By Chris Brown

"Royalty" is the seventh studio album and was named after Brown's one-year-old daughter of the same name. The R&B singer has already released the first single called "Back to Sleep" as well as three other songs. The album features Solo Lucci, Tayla Parx and Future.

"Tell Me I'm Pretty" By Cage the Elephant

This is the fourth studio album by the American rock band. The group hit it big in 2009 thanks to their catchy single "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked." The first single off the album is called "Mess Around."

"Darkest Before the Dawn" By Pusha T

This is only the second studio album from the talented rapper from The Bronx. The album is being released from Kanye West's music label G.O.O.D Music and features some of the biggest producers in hip hop like West, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, J. Cole and Timberland.

This mystery novel tells the story of Theophania Bogart. She is a former party girl and society photographer who decides to move to San Francisco to escape a family tragedy. A series of murders drag her out of hiding as she struggles to find the killer before she becomes the next victim.

"Bryant & May and the Burning Man: A Peculiar Crimes Unit Mystery" By Christopher Fowler

This is the twelfth novel in the "Bryant & May" series. This story is about Author Bryant and John May, a skilled detective team who must solve the murder of a homeless man who was killed during riots caused by a scandal of a corrupt financier who was accused of insider trading.
