Daisy, then Skye, developed a close relationship with Grant Ward when she first met him working for S.H.I.E.L.D., undercover for Hydra. Given that close bond, Director Coulson is worried she may forgive Ward despite him being a traitor.

Coulson (Clark Gregg) sits Daisy (Chloe Bennet) down for a chat about the Hydra agent (Brett Dalton), in a new "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." sneak peek for Tuesday's episode, "Closure." She explains the bond they formed over their "messed up childhoods" and how she can understand how Ward fell under the spell of Agent John Garrett (Bill Paxton), who pulled him into Hydra.

In the second-to-last episode before the fall finale, Coulson is leading an all-out assault to settle the score against Ward, whose campaign for revenge has brought S.H.I.E.L.D. to its knees.

It's all leading to an epic showdown between S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra that will play out a week later on "S.H.I.E.L.D." and include even bigger surprises than Daisy's transition to an Inhuman and Agent Tripp's (B.J. Britt) death from last year's fall finale.

"I would say that this midseason finale has two shocking twists and both of them are bigger than anything that happened in last season's midseason finale," Gregg told Entertainment Weekly.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
