Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Kwon Alexander is reportedly facing a four-game suspension for a violation of the NFL's policy regarding performance-enhancing drugs, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers used a fourth round pick on Alexander in the 2015 NFL Draft, and he has produced big numbers on the field this season. The Buccaneers rookie linebacker has 63 combined tackles and two sacks this season, as well as two interceptions. Alexander played Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles and was all over the field, recording 10 combined tackles.

The Buccaneers are expected to receiver a letter from the league office this upcoming Monday informing them of Alexander's suspension, according to Ira Kaufman of the Tampa Bay Tribune. Alexander is reportedly believed to have tested positive for a banned substance during the Buccaneers training camp, and according to the NFL Players' Association's agreement with the NFL, all first-time offenders are required to serve a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's PED policy.

With Alexander likely serving his suspension in the next four games, former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Bruce Carter could see an increase in playing time, according to NFL reporter Conor Orr. Tampa Bay has improved to 5-5 on the season after beating the Eagles 45-17 on Sunday, and they have shown drastic improvement since last season. Alexander will have a chance to appeal the suspension and could at least delay his punishment. The rookie linebacker is second on the team in tackles with 63, and he will be sorely missed if he serves his four-game suspension down the stretch of this season.
