Set to make an appearance on the sprawling cast of "Game of Thrones" is British actor Struan Rodger, WinterIsComing.net reports, recently cast in the role of the Three-Eyed Raven.

If you've read the source material, you know of the character's connection to Bran Stark and his quest to understand the visions he's been having since his fateful fall after being pushed from the tower at Winterfell at Jaime Lannister. Towards the end of season 3, Bran, Meera, Jojen and Hodor travel beyond the wall with the help of Samwell Tarley, who does not join them on their journey.

Bran also leaves his younger brother Rickon behind in the care of Osha and his direwolf, Shaggy Dog.

Season 4 is set to cover the second half of the third book in the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, "A Storm of Swords," but the producers and writers will be drawing from later books to adapt the show accordingly.

Called the Three-Eyed Crow in the books, the Three-Eyed Raven will be played by Rodger, according to his agency resume.

Rodger has appeared on British shows such as "Law & Order UK," "Chandler & Co.", "The Thick Of It" and films "Four Weddings and a Funeral," "The Madness of King George" and "Stardust." It is unclear whether or not he will appear "in the flesh" or as part of one of Bran's visions.

He will join the cast along with a host of new actors, including Joel Fry (Hizdahr zo Loraq, a Meereen man who tangles with Daenerys Targaryen), Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell, the Red Viper), Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand), Mark Gattis, and Icelandic indie band Sigur Rós, whose special role has yet to be announced.
