Madonna has been banned from a Texas-based movie theater chain after reportedly texting during a movie. According to New Now Next, the "Material Girl" was at a New York Film Festival premiere of "12 Years A Slave" when she was too busy texting instead of watching the movie.
"Tonight at the New York Film Festival premiere of '12 Years a Slave' (a masterpiece, by the way!), I sat behind the unholy trifecta of Jason Ritter, J. Alexander from 'America's Next Top Model,' and Michael K. Williams from 'The Wire,'" film critic Charles Taylor wrote in his critique. "Plus, a mysterious blonde in black lace gloves who wouldn't stop texting on her blackberry throughout the first half of the movie."
When someone tapped her on the shoulder and asked her to put her phone away Madonna snapped "It's for business, enslaver!"
"The rest of the movie, I kept thinking about how I wanted to tell the blonde what a disgrace she was," Taylor continued.
This "mysterious blonde" then ducked out of the theater during standing ovations. When J. Alexander asked who that was, Ritter reportedly held up the seat chart which had Madonna's name written on it.
"We looked to the side of the theater and standing against the wall in black lace gloves was Madonna," Taylor wrote. "The worst person in America."
Tim League, the CEO of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema heard about the texting fiasco and decided to ban the singer until "she apologizes to fans." The theater reportedly has a very strict policy against "rude theater behavior."
Several Twitter users felt League was being a little hard on Madonna and shouldn't have been banned from the theater.
"Madonna, however entitled she feels is, is unbearably rude to others around her by texting in a theater," he responded on Twitter.
"She needs better manners," he continued.
He did admit to another user that he was only joking when he said Madonna was banned but was going to use this opportunity to teach people about proper theater etiquette.
