The plot of the ultra-secretive film "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" has been kept under wraps since the project was first announced- until now.

The highly-anticipated "Harry Potter" spin-off will take place 70 years before Harry Potter ever set foot in Hogwarts and will be set in New York City. The film revolves around Eccentric magizoologist Newt Scamander, who is played by Academy Award-winning actor Eddie Redmayne.

Newt comes to NYC for a mysterious reason with his trusty briefcase that is "one of those way-way-way-bigger-on-the-inside magical devices, and within are expansive habitats for a collection of rare and endangered magical creatures from Newt's travels around globe," according to Entertainment Weekly.

When Newt arrives in America, he discovers that wizards are "fearfully hiding" from Muggles, which are called "No-Maj" in the states. The threat of exposure for wizards is a lot more grave in the U.S. than it is in Newt's native England, and the story will follow him as he "travels to wiz-phobic America," where "a variety of his creatures, some quite dangerous ... get out of their case."

The screenplay was written by "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling and is based off of her 2001 encyclopedia of magical creatures from the wizarding world.

Along with Redmayne in the lead, "Fantastic Beasts" also stars Katherine Waterson as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as Queenie, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Ezra Miller as Credence, Colin Farrell as Graves and Samantha Morton as Mary Lou, according to Mugglenet.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will be released in theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.
