The Australian Cricket team, known for off-field tactics like provocative verbal remarks, has again attempted to stirred an off-field battle as its opening batsman David Warner accused Kiwi skipper Brendon McCullum of double standards between his on-field values and his off-field perception, according to IANS. However New Zealand skipper Brendan McCullum responded by saying that he has a lot of respect for Warner.

"Everyone in cricket is entitled to their own opinion. At the time that was what I felt. I wasn't trying to be righteous about it. I've caught up with Davey downstairs and I've got a whole lot of respect for Davey Warner," he said, Sportal reported.

The Black Cap captain also said that his teammates are relaxed ahead of the inaugural Test. "The guys are relaxed. They are in a good frame of mind. We are under no illusions as to how difficult the task in front of us is. But they are in a good space," he told reporters in a pre-match interaction, according to Cricinfo.
