The first major update to Windows 10 will be on Nov. 10. This was revealed by Ashish Sondhi, a Microsoft support engineer, in a Microsoft Answers post. There is no comprehensive information yet as to what the update will entail aside from the availability of Cortana support in India, but some rumors could give eager users an idea of what to expect.

First, the Windows 10 update, which some refer to as Threshold 2, is expected to address the bugs that have been reported so far. Some of these include the issues with the Start button and menu, as reported by Yahoo Tech.

Aside from the software fixes, users can expect new improvements such as those made in the user interface and the Edge browser. The new update could also include a Skype-based messaging app, according to Softpedia. Experts are almost certain about these changes because they are already included in the preview builds.

There are also some detailed tidbits offered by insiders such as how the Start menu will accommodate more Live Tiles and an easier upgrade process for pirated copies of Windows 7.

Finally, while Threshold 2 is considered an important update, it will merely set the stage for a yet bigger upgrade coming in 2016 codenamed "Redstone." Redstone will purportedly introduce new features that will allow easier shifting between devices, PC World reported.
