Last week everyone but Olivia (Kerry Washington) and Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) worked to vanquish the scandal (no pun intended) concerning the president’s affair with a mysterious mistress. Unfortunately for a young lady who worked in the White House, she became the scapegoat for the affair and now the whole world thinks she slept with President Fitzgerald Grant.

In a recent sneak peek given exclusively to EOnline, Fitz isn’t too happy about the situation and is letting Mellie (Bellamy Young) and Cyrus (Jeff Perry) know it.

In the video which can be seen on the website, Mellie and Cyrus are attempting to put the finishing touches on their scheme to frame the young lady—whose name is Jeanine—as the president’s mistress. All they need is for Fitz to admit to the press that she slept with him.

To which he says—no.

In fact, Fitz thinks Jeanine (Samantha Sloyan) deserves something in return. After he commands Cyrus and Mellie to deny his involvement with Jeanine when they talk to the press, he says:

“Then you’re going to tell them that this White House owes Ms. Locke one world class, [heck] of an apology, which we humbly hope that she’ll except.”

Something tells me with something as big as this, an apology is probably not going to cut it. At the end of last week’s episode we found out two important bits of information. No. 1—Olivia and her gladiators have been hired to deal with Jeanine’s situation. No. 2—Fitz is the one that leaked Olivia’s name as his mistress to the press. He wanted to out Olivia's name so Mellie couldn't use it as ammo against him or hurt Olivia.

How long will the Jeanine story continue? Will the decision by Cyrus and Mellie come back to haunt the Grant administration?

While we may not be sure what Cyrus and Mellie will do next, we are fairly certain that Olivia is going to do what she can to help Jeanine. According to the "Scandal" facebook page, helping her will include holding a press conferene to bash the White House for naming Jeanine as the mistress. You can watch this sneak peek below in which Olivia does just that.

“Scandal” airs Thursdays at 10/9c on ABC.
