A number of prominent Japanese firms have announced their support for Apple and the iOS ecosystem, with Daiwa House Industry, the country's largest home builder, becoming one of Apple's biggest supporters in the nation. Together with other leading Japanese firms, Daiwa is beginning to standardize the use of iOS and iPads in its operations, according to Patently Apple.

Daiwa House Industry currently has 83 offices and 10 factories around Japan. All of them are utilizing iOS and iPads, with custom apps for everything from design and building tools, to managing internal tools operations to end user sales and home management tools for customers.

The notable corporate shift in Japan towards the adoption of iOS during the past year is partly due to Apple's partnership with IBM. In June alone, IBM expanded its support of iOS app solutions with a cloud services partnership with Box, reported Apple Insider.

IBM has also released more than 30 industry-specific apps for iPhone and iPad users in the enterprise. The apps range from business travel, shift management, field operations, banking, education, public safety, and healthcare. It has also developed apps that work hand-in-hand with the Apple Watch.

With Apple taking some of Japan's major business players, Android and Windows may need to catch up very soon.
