One of the major questions “The Originals” fans have before the official series premiere on Thursday is,

“Who exactly is Davina (Danielle Campbell)”?

Well, according to Campbell, she’s a young witch who still wants to do regular teenage-girl things.

“She’s definitely up [in the attic]and I wouldn’t say it’s against her will,” explains Campbell in an interview with TV Fanatic, “but like any teenage girl she wants to be with other people, wants to be in school and doing normal teenage things.”

Now when we first meet Davina in the pilot she’s up in the attic and it appears like she’s being held captive by Marcel (Charles Michael Davis). However, Campbell hints that their relationship might not be strictly captor/captive.

“I think that Marcel and her have a relationship that’s going to be shocking to a lot of people,” Campbell explained. “I think that he’s very important to her.

As for her powers? It seems Davina still has some learning to do.

“For Davina…she is a teenager and she is definitely still getting used to her power,” said Campbell, “and its definitely developing more and more each day and she is trying to learn how to use it.”

Davina is a wild card when it comes to Marcel’s battle against Klaus (Joseph Morgan). Just how strong is she? Will Klaus and his team be able to stop Davina, who appears to be Marcel’s secret weapon? The Marcel/Klaus battle just gets more and more intriguing.

“The Originals” premieres Thursday 9/8c on The CW after “The Vampire Diaries.”
