Reports in the wake of the Dallas Cowboys' victory over NFC East rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, on Sunday, indicate that quarterback Tony Romo will be on the sideline for quite some time and Brandon Weeden will be taking snaps under center for the foreseeable future for the Super Bowl-hopeful Cowboys. Romo indicated to Fox's Erin Andrews after the game that he had suffered a broken clavicle. Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports that it's an injury that will likely keep him sidelined for somewhere between six to eight weeks.

As Rapoport notes, the Cowboys have not yet used there Injured Reserve Designated to Return yet and Romo may be a perfect candidate.

The Cowboys were able to hang on and beat the Eagles on Sunday despite Romo's injury, though that may have more to do with Philadelphia's ineptitude than Dallas' efforts after Romo went down.  Weeden did manage to toss a 42-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Williams to bring an end to the nearly non-existent Eagles comeback, but there's no doubting the Cowboys will struggle to remain atop the NFC East without Romo and Dez Bryant.

Romo, attempting to remain positive after the game, said that he was confident in Weeden's ability to lead the team in his absence.

"I think Brandon's gonna come in and play good football. I think he's ready," Romo said, via NFL Gameday.

With the Cowboys (2-0) missing Romo and Bryant and the Eagles and New York Giants winless, it may be that the Washington Redskins at 1-1 are in the best position in the division.
