A man from Florida has been arrested for allegedly crawling under tables and trying to smell women's feet at Florida International University. Fifty-two-year-old Eddy Juan was discovered yesterday in Miami when the campus authorities encouraged local people to identify the man who had taken sniffing women's feet in the library.

According to the campus police, Juan was "crawling underneath tables at the FIU Library to smell women's feet. He had been caught in the act in photos," according to Crime Feed.

The university's police had released a photo with a description alerting students about a man in the campus library seen under a table on Aug. 29. FIU police also handed out and posted flyers all over the school grounds and raised a campus-wide alert, according to Fox News.

"This guy must have a weird fetish," Natalie Quintana of FIU, said on WSVN. "God only knows what else he wants to do if he's going to be smelling your feet."

Officers were able to locate Juan in Miami-Dade at Southwest 59th Street and Southwest 97th Court. Juan tried to flee from authorities using a motor scooter.

Juan was arrested and charged with a violation of sexual offender registration and other cases such as reckless driving, fleeing and eluding, aggravated assault and resisting with no violence.

"On Tuesday afternoon, a member of the public saw the person and called Miami-Dade Police Department. Police officers saturated the area and located the individual riding a scooter. The individual attempted to flee and was apprehended and arrested. FIUPD appreciates the involvement of the concerned citizens of Miami-Dade County, who provided the information that led to this arrest," NBC Miami reported.

The foot-fetishist was appointed a public attorney and appeared in court on Wednesday and was set a bond at $18,500. He was ordered to never go near the university again.
