Two years after leaving the Church of Scientology, actress Leah Remini celebrated a "new beginning" as she baptized her daughter Sofia in a Catholic ceremony, E! News reported. The former "King Of Queens" star shared a family photo from the baptism on Instagram.

"A very special day for our little girl and her Godparents @crabichuk wanted to share with all of you," Remini, 45, wrote in the caption, adding the hashtags #baptism #catholic #newbeginnings at the end.

The photo showed Remini and her husband, actor Angelo Pagan, sitting on a church pew with Remini's arm around their 11-year-old daughter Sofia Bella Pagan. The tween wore a white dress, which is traditional in a Catholic baptism ceremony. Sofia's maternal grandparents Vicki and George Marshall are smiling, sitting in the pew behind them.

Sofia's Catholic baptism comes two years after Remini left the Church of Scientology. Remini, who was brought up in the church since the age of 10, said that Sofia was the main reason why she decided to leave Scientology behind.

"I started thinking of my own childhood and how I grew up resenting my mother because she was never home," Remini told Us Weekly last year. "But my mom thought she was doing something good, she thought she was helping the planet. That's what the Church tells you."

Pagan, 47, who co-stars alongside Remini in the family's hit TLC reality series "It's All Relative," posted a photo of Sofia during her ceremony on his Instagram and gushed about his daughter's special moment.

"For the record @leahremini and I have always been Catholic," he captioned the shot. "Why we waited so long to baptize Sofia ! Hmmm....anyway it was a beautiful experience and our little angel is on her way to a more spiritual existence. God Bless!"
