Liam Hemsworth thinks Miley Cyrus is headed towards a dangerous and serious meltdown. According to Hollywood Life, sources close to the "Hunger Games" actor told Heat magazine that Hemsworth believes Cyrus is getting close "to a complete meltdown - a breakdown that would make Britney Spears' past problems look tame in comparison."

Their four-year relationship came to an end on Sept. 16 when both Hemsworth and Cyrus' reps confirmed that the engagement had been called off. It had been speculated for months that the young couple was headed towards a serious split. The exact reason for the split has not been revealed but there are rumors that Hemsworth's infidelity had something to do with it while others believe it was Cyrus' erratic and odd behavior.

"[Liam's parents have] never been huge fans of Miley and were shocked by their future daughter-in-laws antics. Miley's been going off the rails for some time, and Liam finally snapped after she refused to apologize or listen to his feelings," the source said. "He told her she needed to 'grow up' before she heads to a Britney-style breakdown."

Hemsworth isn't the only person worried about Miley Cyrus. According to the Huffington Post, Elton John is also afraid the 20-year-old singer is headed towards a major breakdown. He told the website that he is really concerned for the "We Can't Stop" singer.

"I look at Miley Cyrus and I see a meltdown waiting to happen," he said. "And she's so young! But she's got two records in the top 20, so who is going to stop her?"

John said he has seen this kind of behavior before comparing the former Disney star to Michael Jackson. He said that he can "spot a car crash before it happens" and knew Jackson was going to die.

"He'd been doing  drugs for so long, he's been a mess for so long - and I've known Michael since he was 12 or 13 - that it was never going to happen," he said referring to Jackson's hectic and heavy performance schedule right before he passed away.
