It really has been a rough year for Kim Richards. She was supposed to appear in court Monday — stemming from an April arrest for public intoxication, resisting an officer and other charges — but she failed to show up. It turns out she had a pretty good reason, though.

Richards had to miss the court appearance because she allegedly injured her foot, according to Us Weekly. "Kim didn't appear, she was supposed to but she didn't — they said she had injured her foot and because of that she was unable to attend," said Ricardo Santiago, spokesperson for the L.A. Country DA. "The judge accepted the explanation so the attorney appeared on her behalf."

The 50-year-old former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star was apparently given a plea deal for the drunken arrest. Reports said she escaped a possible two-and-a-half-year jail sentence and was instead offered three years of probation, 52 AA classes and 30 days of community labor. She was also ordered to stay away from the Beverly Hills Hotel, where the incident took place.

However, it turns out this isn't exactly what happened, though. Santiago said she did not accept the plea deal and it was rejected because "the defense countered with community service vs. community labor." Her next pre-trial court date is Sept. 14 where she will find out for real if she will face jail time or not.
