This morning One Direction singer and father-to-be Louis Tomlinson publicly confirmed that he's expecting a baby with Los Angeles-based stylist Briana Jungwirth. In front of thousands of screaming fans in Central Park, "Good Morning America" host Michael Strahan congratulated the 23-year-old on his future child.

"Louis, from one father to another I want to congratulate you on your upcoming fatherhood. So how are you feeling?," Strahan asked. "Thank you. Obviously it's a very exciting time. So thank you," Tomlinson replied. This is the first time Tomlinson publicly addressed the exciting baby news.

Last month news broke that the British singer was expecting a baby with his friend Jungwirth. "Louis didn't expect this, but he's excited for it now," an insider told Us Weekly. "He's become very close friends with Briana this year and now they are looking forward to being parents. He's definitely going to be there and be a great dad for their baby."

One Direction's manager Simon Cowell had a sit-down conversation with Tomlinson in which he told the singer he is going to have to grow up very quickly. "I said to him, 'You man up. You're fortunate because you're in a position to be able to look after the baby and not worry too much about that,'" Cowell said. "But I also told him, 'I've received bad calls in my life but this is not one of them. This is your business but I'm here for you.'"

One Direction was on "Good Morning America" to promote the band's first single since Zayn Malik left the group earlier this year. The group played the new single "Drag Me Down" which set a Spotify record with more than 4.5 million listens in one day.
