Characters from "Summer Heights High," Australian comedian Chris Lilley's highly successful mockumentary series, may be returning in a new show for ABC later this year, according to Digital Spy.

Lilley took to Twitter and Facebook today to announce the potential return of some of his classic characters, including bratty high school girl Ja'mie King, flamboyant and narcissistic drama teacher Mr. G, troublemaker Jonah, and "Angry Boys" characters S.mouse, Gran, Phil Olivetti, Daniel and Nathan Sims, of which he played all.

"I'm well under way with a new project and I'm keeping it a bit of a secret and under wraps for now. It's along the same lines as my other shows, it's a mockumentary style and I'll play the characters," Lilley told Digital Spy. "I want to keep as much of the show as possible a secret, but if you've loved my last three shows, this is part four."

"Summer Heights High" won a Logie Award in 2008 for Most Popular Entertainment/Comedy Program, and was a huge ratings success in Australia. The show was later sold for international distribution.

Though it is perhaps his most well-known show, "Summer Heights High" is not the first of Lilley's creations. "We Can Be Heroes: Finding the Australian of the Year" is the mockumentary where we were first introduced to private school girl Ja'mie King. Critics have praised Lilley for his complex, tongue-in-cheek writing with an overall emotional pull.

Lilley has encouraged fans to vote on which characters should be making a documentary.
