Valerie Harper is resting comfortably after being rushed to the hospital before a performance of her musical "Nice Work If You Can Get It" at the Ogunquit Playhouse in Maine on Wednesday.

"Entertainment Tonight" reported that the 75-year-old actress, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2013, began feeling unwell before taking the stage for her show. The Ogunquit Fire Department told E! News that the ambulance was called to the playhouse at 8:56 p.m. to attend to an unconscious female. Medical officials found Harper conscious and transported her to the hospital.

The director reportedly told the crowd that "[Harper] wants all of you to know after some fluids and rest she hopes to be right back here on stage later this week."

"Valerie Harper was taken to a local hospital as a precaution before her July 29 evening performance of 'Nice Work If You Can Get It,' at the Ogunquit Playhouse, after reporting that she was not feeling well," said Bradford T. Kenney, executive artistic director at the playhouse, according to ET. "She is resting comfortably and will remain in the hospital for observation for the time being."

"The audiences and all of us here at the Playhouse are greatly enjoying our time with Valerie here in Ogunquit, and we are encouraged that she is feeling better," he added.

The Ogunquit Playhouse wrote on its website Thursday, "Valerie has been performing in the Ogunquit production as Millicent Winter along with Sally Struthers as Duchess Estonia Dulworth."

No further information about her health condition is available.

In March 2013, the actress announced she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Harper had leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, which is a rare disorder in which cancer cells metastasize into the fluid-filled membrane enveloping the brain, according to People. She was reportedly given three to six months to live but remained optimistic about her future.
