Subway's 'Foot-long' Sandwich is an Inch Shorter

A guy from Perth shared a picture of a "foot-long" subway sandwich that he measured and found to be only 11 inches.

One really doesn't go about measuring one's sandwich. However, a recent incident caused fast food chain Subway to come under the wrath of Facebook users. A man from Perth, Matt Corby shared a picture on Facebook of his "foot-long" subway sandwich which actually measured up to be only 11 inches.

The page is no longer available on Facebook, but people who have posted screengrabs of the article and received more than 5,000 likes and a lot more comments.

"You ripped the world off Subway," wrote a Subway customer.

"Subway = FALSE ADVERTISING. Learn what a foot is," said another.

"Shorting the buns and cutting the meat quantity by 25%. Will make me think twice before going to Subway again."

On the Subway Australia page, one person wrote: "You're a liar Subway Australia. The subs are NEVER over 12" they're ALWAYS under. Google 'subway footlong not 12 inches' and see for yourself. You're a fraud and that is why this page doesn't allow the public to post pictures and comments."

"We are committed to providing a consistent product delivering the same amount of bread to the customer with every order," the company said in an official statement. "The length however may vary slightly when not baked to our exact specifications. We are reinforcing our policies and procedures in an effort to ensure our offerings are always consistent no matter which Subway restaurant you visit."
