The CW’s “Arrow” has added its latest bad guy to the show.

Navid Negahban, most recently known for his role as terrorist Abu Nazir on Showtime’s “Homeland,” will play the role of bad guy Al-Owal on the CW show, according to EOnline.

Negahban’s character will appear in the fifth episode and is said to be a worthy adversary for Oliver (Stephen Arnell).

Al-Owal is also highly connected to storied DC comic bad guys and Oliver's main foe Malcom Merlyn (John Barrowman).

The name “Al-Owal” translates from Arabic to English as “The First.” His main objective will be to attack a person close to Oliver. His main weapon? A scmitiar.

A growing number of D.C. Comic characters will be joining the CW show in Season 2.

Most notably is the arrival of Dr. Barry Allen—better known as The Flash.

Last month, CW President Mark Pedowitz said the network is still looking for someone to fill the role of the historic comic-book character. He added it doesn’t need to be a big-name star.

"I'm from the old school and I think TV creates stars," said Pedowitz at the 2013 TCAs Press Tour. "So if we get a name, great; if we don't get a name he'll become a name."

The CW president also said since this will be an origin story for Flash, viewers shouldn’t expect lightning-fast butt-kicking action right away.

"There's a big DC universe where super-powered character do intersect and don't intersect," he said. "But remember, it's an origin story so he may not come in with superpowers."

Also coming to the show will be Caity Lotz—who will play Laurel’s (Katie Cassidy) sister and the Black Canary—and, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Summer Glau who will play bad guy Isabel Rochev.

Season 2 of Arrow premieres Wednesday, Oct 9 at 8/7c.
