While Jennifer Lopez was away police were at her Water Mill home arresting an alleged stalker. According to Fox, police were called to the home after workers discovered a 49-year-old man living in her pool house. Police say the man had somehow snuck onto the property and had been camping out for a week.
The "Live It Up" singer had taken a restraining order out against the man, identified as John Dubis from the Rhode Island. The reason for the restraining order has not been revealed, Fox reports.
According to Newsday, Dubis was arraigned Aug. 9 on two felonies, second-degree burglary and first-degree criminal contempt as well as two misdemeanors and fourth-degree stalking. Police also say the Rhode Island native was in possession of "burglar tools." His next court date has been scheduled for Aug. 28 and he is currently being held on $100,000 bail.
The "American Idol" judge purchased the mansion in May for a reported $10 million. There has been no comment about the incident from Lopez or her camp.
Over the weekend, Lopez's boyfriend Casper Smart accidentally revealed that to E! News that she would be returning to "American Idol" as a judge for season 13.
Smart was promoting his new TV show, "A Step Away" for Nuvo TV when he was asked about "Idol" casting rumors.
Apparently thinking that Fox had already spilled the details Smart told the reporter that fans would see her back at the judges table. The only other confirmed judge has been Keith Urban, who was the only returning judge from season 12.
It had been rumored for months that she would be returning to the singing competition show.
"Returning to 'American Idol' makes sense for Jennifer for this season," a source told E!. "As the show's schedule will allow her to focus on new film and TV projects."
Season 13 of "American Idol" returns January 2014.
