The republican party gained a 12th candidate for the 2016 presidential election on Tuesday, as billionaire real estate mogul and reality TV star Donald Trump announced his bid.

Speaking from Trump Tower in New York City, Trump said he will be "the greatest jobs president that God ever created," adding "We are going to make our country great again,"

His speech was littered with shots at both President Obama and fellow republican presidential candidates, according to CNN.

He directly targeted Obamacare.

"I would do various things very quickly. I would repeal and replace the big lie, Obamacare," Trump declared.

Jeb Bush, at this point a more serious contender for the republican bid, is also in Trump's crosshairs.

Trump, who boasted of having $8.7 billion in net worth, accused Bush of having a weak stance on education policy.

"How the hell can you vote for this guy?" he asked after claiming Florida's governor has weak stances on education policies.

Trump even had choice words for Mitt Romney, who ran for president in 2012 as a republican.

"I have a Gucci store that's worth more than [Mitt] Romney," Trump said, adding that he will be the "most successful person ever to run for the presidency, by far."

As far as plans and policy go, Trump shared his opinion on Mexico, and in particular immigrants from their country coming to America.

"They're sending people that have lots of problems and they're bringing their problems," Trump said. "They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime, they're rapists, and some I assume are good people but I speak to border guards and they tell us what we are getting."

Despite the announcement and enthusiasm surrounding his campaign by some, Trump is at the bottom of a recent poll ranking the candidates by online popularity, according to Reuters:

"He (Trump) languishes in 12th place, ahead of former New York Governor George Pataki, in a Reuters/Ipsos online poll of 13 Republicans who have either declared their candidacies or are likely to. (Jeb) Bush led the poll."
