The security footage obtained by NBC Miami showed that Hicks was stepping out of a white car with her manager and, later on, engaged in an argument and began hitting each other.

The video showed another man, who was not yet identified, climbed out of a rear door and joined the commotion. Hicks' manager and the man threw her and pinned her to the ground.

After the two backed down, Hicks returned with a handgun she got from her handbag, and her manager dropped himself to the ground and hid behind the car. But Hicks did not hesitate to shoot multiple times until he was crawling and wounded to the ground.

The other man jumped into the Lexus, the car used to attack Hicks by running over her. He sped off in the car, and Hicks stood and ran down the sidewalk on the other side.

The police arrived when the manager was found with multiple gunshot wounds. The manager was brought to the hospital, but later on, he was pronounced dead.

Furthermore, Hicks was also hospitalized due to her wounds which came from a forceful impact, and said to the police that the shooting was an act of self-defense.

She told the police that she had feared for her life and that shooting the two men was her only option.

"The defendant stated she was in fear due to the victim's size and upon hearing the victim yell 'I'll kill you with one hit,'" a police report stated.

According to the GoFundMe, an American for-profit crowdfunding platform, which was an apparent family member, defended Hicks and said to the police that the two men assaulted her multiple times. Furthermore, Hicks' attorneys also called the incident a clear case of self-defense.

Hicks was placed in prison but would be released after Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer granted her a $50,000 bond and house arrest in a recent hearing.

Glazer said that she believes Hicks does have a very good self-defense claim, but that claim was a defense of the charge. She said that the self-defense does not negate the finding that there was a probable cause for second-degree murder.
