It has been three weeks since "Glee" star Cory Monteith was found dead of a drug overdose in a Canada hotel room, and now the actor's mother has broken her silence to thank fans for their support.

"I would like to thank all of Cory's supporters at this extremely emotional time," Ann McGregor tweeted. "Your support has been overwhelming... thank you."

In addition to expressing her gratitude, McGregor also took the opportunity to address questionable sources that have spoken with the media since her son's passing.

"The person releasing articles related to my feelings and thoughts on how to take care of Cory's ashes has never been in contact with me," she wrote. "I have never met or spoken to this person. He does not represent me or my wishes."

While McGregor did not directly point to a particular story, reports speculate that she is referring to Richard Monteith, a man believed to be Cory's first cousin.

Richard has spoken with several media outlets since Cory's death, and reportedly told Life & Style Magazine McGregor was planning on spreading her son's ashes in all of the places he loved.

It was Richard who also told the mag Cory planned on moving in with girlfriend and fellow "Glee" star Lea Michele before he died.

"He loved her. They were close and they have a great connection. You can see through the show. That's why they fell in love and they continued on from there," he said. "It's tragic for her. He was her life and she was his."

While Michele has yet to address Richard's comments, the starlet has recently returned to Twitter and thanked fans for their well wishes.

Just this week, Michele also tweeted about going back to the "Glee" set.

"First day of glee today..And at my first wardrobe fitting for Rachel Berry for Season Five! I've missed her so much," she wrote.
