Jack White and Karen Elson may have been amicable when they first decided to separate in 2011, the couple threw a divorce party, but things have taken a turn for the worse as Elson has filed a restraining order against White, according to the Independent.

Elson filed for the restraining order on July 17 citing "fears for her safety and that of their children." White is barred from having "any contact with Karen Elson whatsoever except as it relates to parenting time with the parties' minor children," according to the Independent.

According to the restraining order White has a "violent temper and a tendency of sending harassing emails and text messages." Elson also said that White has spoken poorly about Elson to their business manager.

"This was done to harass and embarrass wife," the order said. "This pattern of husband's bullying wife into submission was a contributing factor in the demise their marriage."

When filing for the restraining order Elson submitted many of the threatening emails that White sent to her. In the emails White seems to be furious that Elson is enrolling their children in the same school that Black Keys' singer Dan Aurbach's children go to, according to TMZ.

"My concern with Aurbach is because I don't want the kids involved in any of that crap...That's a possible twelve f***ing years I'm going to be sitting in kids chairs next to that a**hole with other people trying to lump us together," White said. "Aurbach gets yet another free reign to follow me around and copy me and push himself in to my world."

The couple were married in June 2005 in Brazil. They have two children together, Scarlett, 7, and Henry, 5. They filed for divorce in 2011 but it has yet to be finalized, according to Us Weekly.

When the couple threw their divorce party in 2011 they sent out invitations stating that they "feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow." It now appears that they will be spending almost all of that time separately.
