With Kim Kardashian's baby girl uncharacterically absent for the spotlight after a highly publicized pregnancy and birth, fans of Kardashian and boyfriend Kanye West are speculating on how the celebrity couple are doing as parents, especially Ye, who was absent throughout much of his girlfriend's pregnancy. So how does West feel about his new role as a father?

According to Hollywood Life, West is devoted to his daughter North "Nori" West, so much so that he is intent on keeping her out of the limelight and away from her mother's reality show "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

"Everything is on the up and up with little North," a source close to Kimye told Hollywood Life. "She's as cute as can be and looks like her mom. She's gorgeous and even though she's not even two months old, Kanye and Kim are still overwhelmed by her presence. They shower her with love."

The source also reports that the new dad is totally devoted, his attention captured by the new baby girl. "[Kanye] told me he one time slept on the floor next to her crib because he just wanted to be that much closer to her," said the source. "I was like 'okay... that's some real father s*** right there.'"

West's latest album "Yeezus" has been met with both critical acclaim and fan criticism, a heavy-hitting, self-indulgent, self-parodying (as a reviewer from Grantland calls it), stunning collection of songs that defies hip-hop trends and reveals deeply rooted anxieties about impending fatherhood, as he recorded the album in France at the time Kardashian was pregnant.

Last month, West revealed to New York Times writer Jon Caramanica how he feels about being a father and his role in protecting his baby from Hollywood, shedding light on why he's so strict about keeping Nori away from the cameras.

"One of the things was just to be protective, that I would do anything to protect my child or my child's mother," he said. "As simple as that...I just don't want to talk to America about my family. Like, this is my baby. This isn't America's baby."

If Hollywood Life's reports are accurate, then West is enjoying his new role as a parent, though only time will tell if he will allow Kim Kardashian to show their baby off to the world. Most recently, Kardashian posted a fake photo of baby North on Facebook, causing many fans to question the motives of the reality star mama.
