Zayn Malik may have left One Direction, but he's still as popular as ever.

Malik broke an Indian world record with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan when the duo posted a selfie to Twitter last week at the Asian Awards in London.

The tweet was retweeted nearly 120,000 times, which broke the record for the most retweeted tweet in India, reported The Hollywood Reporter. 

The celebrities were pictured smiling just before dinner at the award ceremony, where Khan was honored with an outstanding contribution to cinema award  and Malik received the outstanding contributions to music award.

The Asian Awards was the first time Malik made a public appearance after leaving One Direction.
