During an interview with MTV News, DJ Khaled took a break from promoting his seventh studio album to offer a very public marriage proposal to Nicki Minaj.

Though the two are not dating, Khaled turned to the camera and professed his love to the female rapping sensation.

"Nicki Minaj, I'm going to be honest with you; I love you," he said. "I like you, I want you, I want you to be mine. Nicki Minaj, will you marry me?"

"[If] you gotta take your time and think about it, I understand," he continued. "But I know I have to be here today to let you know how serious I am and how serious this is to me."

Even more serious is the ring Khaled debuted at the end of the proposal. According to MTV, the 10-karat sparkler is from Manhattan's Rafaello & Co. and has a value of about $500,000.

The typically outspoken Minaj has yet to offer a response, and sources are speculating the proposal may be a publicity stunt to promote Khaled's latest studio release, "Suffering From Success," which is due out in September.

Khaled and Minaj have a professional history, but not a romantic one. The stars are both signed to the same label, Young Money Entertainment, and recently collaborated on a new tune called "Twerk It," also featuring Busta Rhymes and Pharrell.

Minaj, who is currently keeping busy with live tour dates, studio sessions and an acting role in the film "The Other Woman," did recently speak out about settling down.

"I was praying every day, 'You know what, Lord? I want to be a mom one day, and I want to start becoming the woman who I want to parent my child,'" she told Marie Claire of her mindset during her successful world tour. "I wanted all of the feelings of entitlement to leave me, because some people have this life for a year or five or 10 - and a lot of them lose it. I didn't want to become a person who wasn't enjoying the moment."
