When HBO announced that it was premiering a cable-free version of its HBO Go service in January, cord-cutters around the world got excited. "Finally! A way to watch 'Game of Thrones' without stealing an HBO Go password or pirating!"

The service was officiated by HBO during the March 9 Apple Event, when Apple announced its exclusive access to the service. However, HBO never released a date for the launch; it only released details about how HBO users would have access to it before April 12, the premiere of the fifth season of "Game of Thrones."

But never fear! HBO Now premiered its service on Tuesday to the approval of millions. The HBO Now app appeared in the Apple App Store and the Apple TV OS. HBO then confirmed HBO Now's availability by offering the option to order a subscription through its website, as well as through Apple's.

"Subscribe to HBO right from your Apple TV or iOS device - no cable or satellite subscription required. With HBO NOW, you get instant access to every episode of every season of HBO's award-winning original shows and Hollywood blockbusters," wrote Apple's page for HBO Now.

If users want access to HBO Now, they'll have to pay $14.99 a month to use it. However, HBO is offering a new deal to get people hooked. Any customer who signs up in the near future will receive a 30-day trial period with HBO Now, so that they can test and see if they like it.

HBO Now users will receive access to popular series like "Game of Thrones," "The Sopranos," "Deadwood," "True Detective," "Sex and the City," "Veep," "Silicon Valley," "Girls," "True Blood" and "The Leftovers," as well as award-winning shows like "Band of Brothers," "The Wire," and "John Adams."
