With an estimated $75 million in earnings between June 2012 and June 2013, Robert Downey Jr. has topped Forbes' latest list of Hollywood's highest paid actors.

Downey bathed in box office success this year with hits like "The Avengers" and "Iron Man 3." Both superhero films earned over $1 billion, with "The Avengers" breaking records as the third high-grossing film of all time.

With such big success comes a big paycheck and Downey is said to have earned more than anyone else on set during his work on "The Avengers." His salary even bested that of director Joss Whedon, according to Forbes.

According to Forbes, Downey was a Hollywood untouchable. No one wanted to work with the actor, who struggled with drug addiction. Now studios everywhere are fighting for the actor's attention and the box office magic he brings to the big screen.

Downey is set to begin filming the sequel to "The Avengers" this February.

Coming in at No. 2 on the Forbes list is Channing Tatum with estimated earnings of $60 million. The sexy star made millions off the successful stripper flick "Magic Mike," which was based on his own experience as a young male dancer. Now Tatum, who just welcomed daughter Everly with wife Jenna Dewan, is turning "Magic Mike" into a franchise with plans to create a Broadway show and a bar based on the film, according to Forbes.

In the third spot is Hugh Jackman. The actor had a great year, earning an Oscar nomination for his part as Jean Valjean in the super successful musical hit "Les Miserables" and taking home an estimated $55 million in earnings to boot.

Rounding out the top five are Mark Wahlberg with $52 million in earnings and Dwayne Johnson with $46 million.
