A new Disco Dog vest is being designed to make you pooch the biggest party animal out there - because, why not?

A start-up firm called Party NYC - based in New York and Tokyo - created a Kickstarter page to raise money for their Disco Dog project.

They plan to create a LED vest that displays a variety of animated patterns and custom scrolling text in thousands of colors, which can all be controlled by your smartphone.

The vest also keeps your pooch's safety in mind.

"It's a fun way to celebrate your dog, and also keeps her visible and safe when it's dark out. If your dog runs too far away and the connection is lost, the vest will show an automatic "LOST DOG" message, asking bystanders to help the lost pup find her way back," the company wrote on the Kickstarter page.

The company is raising money with Kickstarter to improve their prototype and fund the future launch event in NYC.

So far, at the time of publication, the company raised $7,030 of their $15,000 goal.
