Hold on to your ninja swords and keep your hatchets and automatic rifles in a safe and upright locked position, folks. We are just a few weeks away from the season five finale of AMC's "The Walking Dead." That means fan speculation, rumors and overall excitement is going to build to chaotic levels in the very near future.

AMC recently announced that the finale would be expanded from its typical 60 minutes to 90 minutes (30 extra minutes of zombie bashing!) and the network even released a plot summary for the episode.

"Daryl finds himself in trouble while out on the run. Meanwhile, in Alexandria, Rick and his group continue to feel like outsiders as danger lurks near the gates."

Why is Daryl on the run? How did he get into this dangerous predicament?

The simple fact of the matter is that Daryl Dixon is arguably the biggest fan-favorite of the entire series. But would showrunner Scott M. Gimple be willing to make him zombie food for the sake of exciting telelvision?

"Daryl has seemed like a man apart so far this season," Troy L. Smith of Cleveland.com wrote. "He has yet to fully recover from Beth's death. And if the finale is 90 minutes, someone is dying. I'll guarantee that."

There's a popular campaign out there that fancies themselves "Dead" guardians. Their motto? "If Daryl dies, we riot!"

Will the show give them a reason to riot this year?

The season five finale of "The Walking Dead" will air on March 29.
