Susan Boyle is open to dating and is ready to find a good man, the Scottish singer said in a recent interview with The Sun.

Susan Boyle, the singer who blew audiences away with her surprising audition at "Britain's Got Talent" in 2009 and has gone on to be a best-selling performer with an upcoming sold-out tour in her native Scotland - is looking for the perfect man.

"I want to find a man but it's hard with all the travelling I do. I really want to start going on dates and I've asked my friends to set me up with a good man - if they can find one," she said.

"I'd like to settle down one day."

Boyle has already sold more than 19 million albums since she won second place prize in the talent competition.  She is also embarking on her first tour in Scotland later this year which has already sold out.

Her openness to dating may have been spurred by her recent acting debut role in The Christmas Candle in which she had to smooch her costar, James Cosmo. The task turned out to be a treat.

"I have my very first 'husband' - which is very exciting. It's been a long wait," the 52-year-old told the Sun. "I had to kiss him, too, as we had a kissing scene. It was my first on-screen kiss. It was lovely. I didn't know about the kissing scene when I signed up, but I wasn't complaining."

Boyle also spoke about how her life changed since she first entered the limelight four years ago.

"It's something you gradually get yourself accustomed to," she explained. "I've only been doing this for four years. You just can't dive in at the deep end."

"If I'd gone into the business at 18, it probably wouldn't have done us much good because I wasn't very mature then," she added.
