Depending on who you ask, Christian Bale is Batman. The 40-year-old actor is best known for playing the Caped Crusader in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" films but fans will soon see another actor take over the role.

Last year, Warner Bros. announced that Ben Affleck was cast as Batman in Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." The Internet exploded with hate and skepticism and in a new interview Bale admitted that there was a bit of jealousy on his end.

"I've got to admit initially, even though I felt it was the right time to stop, there was always a bit of me going, 'Oh go on... Let's do another,'" he told Exodus Magazine, via Comic Book Movie. "So when I heard there was someone else doing it, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour."

"But I'm 40," he added. "The fact that I'm jealous of someone else playing Batman... I think I should have gotten over it by now."

Bale did say that he tried contacting Affleck after the role was announced to offer him some advice.

"I haven't spoken with Ben, but I emailed him offering bits of advice that I learned the hard way. I would imagine he is doing everything he can to avoid anything that I did," he said.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" hits theaters March 25, 2016.
