For months, retail giant Amazon and publisher Hachette Books have been engaged in a fierce dispute regarding pricing, but the battle is officially over as of Thursday, Nov. 13, according to Anime News Network.

To the alleged mutual satisfaction between the two companies, a multi-year agreement was reached. The agreement will allow Hachette to set its own prices for its books sold on Amazon, both in print and on eReaders, while also giving the Big Five publisher "financial incentives" to lower its prices for books sold by Amazon, USA Today reported.

The new terms will take effect in early 2015.

During the dispute, both companies suffered in sales due to Amazon's limiting pre-orders of Hachette titles, including Yen Press manga titles, and ordering less inventory than normal. Amazon also delayed the availability of Hachette Group books, sometimes by weeks at a time, according to USA Today.

There was even one incident where the title "The Silkworm" by Robert Balbraith, aka J.K. Rowling, ended up being shipped in a timely manner only due to customer pressure against Amazon, forcing the online retailer to back down and conduct business appropriately.
