Prince William and Kate Middleton (along with her growing baby bump!) are headed to the States for a royal engagement. According to USA Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are taking their first-ever trip to Washington D.C. and New York City in December.

Clarence House announced on its website that Middleton and Prince William are expected to attend a number of royal engagements Dec. 7 through Dec. 9. The Duchess, who is pregnant with her second child, will remain in New York for the entire three days, while her husband takes a solo day trip to D.C.

According to E! News, the couple has a packed schedule and will attend several engagements on behalf of the Royal Foundation and a few other charities. While in the Big Apple, William and Middleton will make a visit to the National September 11 Memorial and Museum at the World Trade Center. According to a press release, the royal couple will "pay their respects to the nearly 3,000 people who died in the attacks of February 1993 and September 11, 2001."

They will also attend a reception by the Royal Foundation to honor the Tusk Trust, the Wildlife Conservation Society and the Conservation International and The Nature Conservancy. Middleton will take a solo trip with Chirlane McCray, the First Lady of New York City, to a child development center and an afternoon lunch hosted by the British Consul General.

While the ladies are bonding, Prince William will be in D.C. for an anti-corruption conference at the World Bank to talk about "zero tolerance" for the illegal trading of wildlife parts. He will also attend a lunch at the World Bank to discuss the illegal trade of ivory.

The royal couple will reunite Monday night (Dec. 8) to attend a basketball game together and to help launch "the ongoing collaboration between the Royal Foundation, United for Wildlife and the NBA."

The following day, Dec. 9, Middleton and William will partake in an event celebrating British talent "in the creative industries based in New York," E! News reports. They will also visit a youth program and end the night at a dinner held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

It's not clear if the couple's son, Prince George, will accompany his parents to New York City.
