After spending nearly two weeks in the hospital, singer August Alsina was released last week. The 22-year-old thanked fans in a Twitter message and urged people to take care of themselves.

"Healthy enough to b Discharged from the hospital today... Scariest time of my life.. but im a soulja & so is God. Thankyou for your prayers," he wrote on Sept. 23.

Earlier that day Nicki Minaj had paid a visit to Alsina to check on him and said the "No Love" singer was doing a lot better. According to TMZ, doctors have urged Alsina to get a lot of rest before he starts working again.

He is scheduled to hit the road with Usher for a 27-date tour beginning Nov. 1. Alsina's rep told TMZ that the singer is now recovering in his New Orleans home.

He was hospitalized on Sept. 15 after he fainted and collapsed during a New York City concert at the Irving Plaza. In video captured on cell phone cameras Alsina was singing to the crowd when his body went limp and he fell into the crowd.

He was wrapping up his first solo tour "Testimony Live."

"This is a bit graphic but I wanted to share w/every follower of mine," the singer wrote on Instagram a week after he had been hospitalized. "Take good care of yourself. Your life can be gone in a split second. I'm recovering well and thankyou for all your prayers & concerns."

According to TMZ, Alsina had suffered seizures while in the hospital and had been placed in a three-day medically-induced coma. His rep told the site that the seizures were a result of the fall and Alsina won't need any medication.
