"X-Men: Days of Future Past" will include an extended director's cut on the blue ray later this year.

"X-Men" Producer Lauren Shuler Donner confirmed on her Twitter account fans can expect to see the extended version set to hit stores shelves later this year.

Along with an extended cut, fans can expect to see deleted scenes including the infamous Rogue cameo. Writer Simon Kinberg explained to The Daily Beast in May why the scene didn't make it to the final cut.

"The Rogue/Anna Paquin scene was by far the biggest cut we made, and that was more my fault than anything," Kinberg said. "When I was crafting the script, I wanted to create a subplot for old Charles and old Eric - Patrick [Stewart] and Ian [McKellen] - to have a mini-mission together, one final adventure. And that's what the Rogue sequence was - that they went to retrieve Rogue."

"It felt like it didn't come from the spine of the film, it was an appendage where I just wanted to see the old guys get in the X-Jet for one last ride," Kinberg added. "It was a narrative detour, and in a film with this much momentum and narrative flow, you can't afford any detours."

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" reported earn $700 million worldwide at the box-office since the film premiered in the U.S. on May 23. FOX President of Production Emma Watts recently spoke about the success of the franchise to The Hollywood Reporter.

"It was the management of the franchise. And a big part of it was getting Bryan [Singer] back [as director]," she told THR. "The debate about originality versus familiar titles is interesting. You can have original movies that feel derivative in their execution, and you can have franchise titles that feel solely original and aspirational in terms of the talent attached, the story, et cetera. So I think the reason for Days of Future Past's success is, it doesn't underestimate what the audience is wanting or capable of enjoying."
