Lucasfilm and Disney productions have announced two fresh faces would be joining the "Star Wars Episode 7" cast.

American actress Crystal Clarke and British actor Pip Andersen have landed roles in the upcoming production.  According to the "Star Wars" official site, the two impressed casting directors during open calls held throughout the U.S. and U.K. in 2013.

"The Star Wars universe has always been about discovering and nurturing young talent and in casting Episode VII we wanted to remain absolutely faithful to this tradition. We are delighted that so many travelled to see us at the open casting calls and that we have been able to make Crystal and Pip a part of the film," Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy said in a statement.

The upcoming film stars franchise newcomers Lupita Nyong'o, Gwendoline Christie, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow.  Veteran actors Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker will also be reprising their roles.

Lucasfilm confirmed the production wrapped up shooting in Abu Dhabi in May and continued filming at Pinewood Studios in London.  The production also revealed Ford's injury has caused a two-week hiatus in filming to allow the actor time to recover.

Ford injured his left leg on the Pinewood Studios set after a hydraulic door fell on him on June 12, BBC reports.  The actor's publicist Ina Treciokas confirmed Ford underwent surgery for his injuries.  Rumors claimed a door from the Millennium Falcon fell on the actor while filming scenes on the iconic set.

"[Ford's] surgery was successful and he will begin rehab shortly," Treciokas said in a statement.  "He's doing well and looks forward to returning to work."

"Star Wars Episode 7" is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
