Reality star and E! News host Giuliana Rancic took home the Fan Favorite award at the Daytime Emmys but her celebration was cut short due to social media comments over her weight. The 39-year-old walked the red carpet in a form-fitting, white Badgley Mischka gown but was slammed by viewers for being "too skinny," Fox News reports.

Several social media users took to Twitter to berate the "Giuliana and Bill" star telling her to eat a sandwich or a hamburger.

"Love you Mrs. Rancic, but you need to get some more food, tooo skinny," one Twitter user posted.

"Giuliana Rancic is too skinny, not a good role model," anther Twitter user commented.

Some fans, however, defended Rancic reminding people that she did battle breast cancer.

"People are commenting on how skinny @GiulianaRancic is. Don't you know this woman had cancer & went through a lot? Treatments and the likes," one user tweeted.

This isn't the first time Rancic has been slammed for her weight but the TV personality doesn't seem to let it bother her. Last year, she told HuffPost Live (via the Daily Mail) that the comments that she's suffering from an eating disorder are "laughable" because there's no truth to them.

"All these people were commenting, 'She's so skinny, eat a sandwich, eat a burger, and it was interesting," Rancic said last year. "I know the truth. I know that I eat a lot and I take walks and I have a faster metabolism."

"I always thought [my metabolism] would catch up to me and it hasn't quite yet," Rancic added. "I'm not trying to be cocky. Anyone who knows me knows I am the least arrogant person. I'm just trying to be honest."

Following her breast cancer diagnosis, Rancic told HuffPost Live that she changed the way she ate but it wasn't exactly healthier, like people might think.

"What's so funny is I've changed quite drastically, the way I live and what I eat and how I exercise, but the opposite way you would think," she said. "Before I got breast cancer I was actually pretty diligent about my diet and what I ate and I tried to eat very healthy foods and whole grains and tried to exercise every day."

But now, Rancic said she believes "life is to be enjoyed, not to be spent in the gym every day and not to be counting your calories."
